Expiry dates and reminders
Close a gallery on a set date, remind your client before it closes, and reopen it later.
Set an expiry date
On the gallery's Settings tab, pick a date under Expires (optional) and click Save settings. The gallery stays open until the end of that day in your studio's time zone. Leave it on Never to keep it open.
While it's open, the bottom of the gallery tells your client the date it's available until.
When it expires
- The gallery moves to the Expired group on Clients > Galleries.
- Visitors see the cover and a message that the gallery has expired, with your email so they can ask you to reopen it.
- It no longer shows in your client's portal.
- Nothing is deleted. The photos stay and still count toward your storage.
Reopen it
Open the gallery's Settings tab, choose a later date (or clear the date for Never), and save. The same link works again.
Reminder emails
Apture can email your client before their gallery closes, with a button to open it.
- Go to Account > Settings and open the Notifications tab.
- Tick Remind clients before their gallery closes.
- In Days before it closes, type one or more numbers, like 7, 2. Each is a whole number of days from 1 to 60, and up to four are used.
- Save.
Reminders go to published galleries with an expiry date. They're sent to the Client email on the gallery, or to the linked client's email if that's empty. A gallery with neither gets no reminder.
The email subject says how many days are left ("Your gallery closes in 7 days", or "closes tomorrow" on the last day). Each reminder goes once per gallery. If you change the expiry date, the reminders start over for the new date.
