Take booking deposits by Venmo, Zelle or Cash App

If you'd rather not take cards, clients can still book a time online and send the deposit by Venmo, Zelle or Cash App. Nothing comes off the deposit, and you don't need Stripe.

Turn it on

1. Go to Money > Payments > Online payments.
2. Under Deposits by Venmo, Zelle or Cash App, tick Clients send the booking deposit by Venmo, Zelle or Cash App instead of card.
3. Fill in the ones you use: your Venmo username, Cash App $cashtag and Zelle email or phone. Leave the others empty.
4. Choose how many hours to Hold the time for while they send it (2 to 72, 24 to start).
5. Add a Note for clients if you like, such as "Please pick Friends and Family on Venmo."
6. Click Save.

Your booking page and mini session pages now take bookings, even without Stripe connected. When it's on, deposits always come this way, also if Stripe is connected; card payments still work for balances and invoices.

What your client sees

After they pick a time and book, they see where to send the deposit, how much, and what to put in the payment note (their first name and the session). On a phone, the Venmo and Cash App buttons open the app with the amount filled in. They get the same details by email, and the time is held for them.

When the money comes in

1. You'll get an email and a notification: "New booking, deposit to come."
2. When the payment arrives in Venmo, Zelle or Cash App, open the booking.
3. In the Money card, pick how they paid and click Mark deposit received.

That confirms the booking. Your client gets their confirmation (and their contract and questionnaire, if the session has them), and it goes on your calendar, the same as a card deposit.

If they never send it

When the hold runs out, the time opens up again for other clients. The next morning the booking is closed and your client gets a short, kind email saying the time was let go and to reply if they already sent it. If the money turns up later, book them again by hand and record the payment.
