Connect Stripe to take payments

Clients pay you through your own Stripe account. Money goes straight to you, and Stripe pays it out to your bank.

What it costs

Apture takes no fee on your payments. Stripe charges its own processing fees, which come out of each payment in your Stripe account, the same as if you used Stripe on its own.

Connect

1. Go to Money > Payments and click Online payments.
2. Click Connect Stripe.
3. Stripe opens. Create an account or fill in your business details, and add the bank account for payouts. It takes about five minutes.
4. When you finish, Stripe sends you back to Apture.

The status you'll see

• Not set up: you haven't started. Your booking page takes inquiries instead of deposits.
• Setup incomplete: Stripe still needs a few details, often your ID number and address. Click Finish Stripe setup to carry on where you left off.
• In review: you've sent everything and Stripe is checking it. This usually takes minutes, sometimes a day or two. Click Check again to refresh, or Update details in Stripe if you need to change something. Stripe emails you if it needs more.
• Connected: you're taking payments online. Open Stripe takes you to your Stripe dashboard.

If a setup link has expired, open Online payments again and pick up where you left off.

What works without Stripe

Before Stripe is connected:

• Your booking page takes inquiries instead of deposits.
• You can't create balance payment links, and gift cards can't be sold on your website.
• You can still record cash, Venmo, Zelle, check and other payments on a booking (see Record a payment made outside Stripe), and add gift cards by hand.

Done in Stripe, not Apture

Payouts, refunds, disputes and Stripe's receipts are handled in your Stripe dashboard. Stripe emails your client a receipt for each card payment. Refunds you make in Stripe show up in Apture on their own (see Refunds).
