Send a balance payment link or reminder
Create a Stripe link for what's owed, or email your client a reminder to pay from their portal.
There are two ways to ask for a balance: a Stripe payment link you share yourself, or a reminder email from Apture.
Create a payment link
- Open the booking.
- In the Money card, click Create payment link.
- Copy the link from the box that appears and send it to your client however you like.
The link is for the exact balance owed and expires after about a day. If you need it again later, click Payment link on the booking. Apture gives you the same link while it's still open and for the right amount, or makes a new one if not.
The button only shows on confirmed bookings with a balance due, and it needs Stripe connected (see Connect Stripe to take payments). If Stripe isn't connected, you see "Finish connecting Stripe (Money > Payments > Online payments)" instead.
When the client pays, the payment appears on the booking and on Money > Payments, and the balance goes down. Stripe emails them a receipt.
Send a reminder email
The reminder is a short email saying the balance is due, with a Pay balance button that opens their client portal.
- From the booking: in the card headed Email and your client's first name, click Balance reminder. It only shows when something is owed.
- From Money > Payments: in Balances due, click Send reminder next to the booking.
Every email Apture sends is listed in Clients > Sent emails.
Clients can always pay from the portal
You don't have to send anything. A client with a balance sees Pay balance next to the booking in their portal, and can use a gift card there too.
