Cover photo, layout, colors and scenes
Choose the cover photo and style, how photos are laid out, the colors, and split a gallery into scenes.
Cover photo
The cover is the first thing your client sees, and it's also shown on the sign-in screen. Apture uses your first upload until you choose another.
To change it, go to the Photos tab, find the photo and click Set cover. The current cover shows a cover label.
Cover style, layout and colors
On the gallery's Settings tab:
- Cover
- Full photo: the cover fills the screen with the title across it.
- Split: the title on a color panel beside the cover photo.
- Minimal: the title on its own, with the cover photo below.
- Photo layout
- Masonry: columns of photos at their own shapes.
- Rows: even rows, each photo at its own width.
- Square grid: same-size squares, cropped to fit.
- Colors: Studio default uses your colors from Website > Content (the Colors tab). Or pick one of the preset color schemes for this gallery only.
Click Save settings.
Scenes
Scenes split a gallery into tabs for your client, like Getting ready, Ceremony and Portraits. Tabs appear in the order their first photo appears in the gallery. Photos in no scene show under All.
To put photos in a scene:
- On the Photos tab, tick the photos. Tick all on this page ticks (or unticks) every photo on the page.
- Type a scene name in Scene for the ticked photos (up to 40 characters). Names you've used before are suggested.
- Click Set scene.
To take ticked photos out of their scene, click Take out of scene.
Each scene is listed with its photo count. Click a scene to Rename it or Remove scene. Removing a scene doesn't delete any photos; they just go back to having no scene.
