Take card payments with Square
Already use Square? Connect it and clients pay deposits, balances and invoices by card into your Square account.
If you already take payments with Square, you can keep using it. Clients pay by card on a Square page, and the money goes to your Square account on your usual Square payout schedule. Square's usual card fee applies; Apture takes nothing.
Connect it
- Go to Money > Payments > Online payments.
- Under Square, click Connect Square.
- Sign in to Square and allow Apture to take payments for you.
You're back on the Online payments page and Square shows Connected, with your business and the location payments go to (your main Square location).
What goes through Square
Once Square is connected, card payments for bookings go through it instead of Stripe:
- deposits when clients book online, and mini session spots
- balances, from the client's portal or a payment link you send
- invoices for a booking
Refund a Square payment from the booking, the same way as any card payment: in the Money card, open Refunds and price changes.
What still needs Stripe
Gift card sales, the gallery print store and payment plan autopay still run on Stripe. If you use those, keep Stripe connected too.
Disconnect
Click Disconnect Square on the same page. New card payments go through Stripe again, if it's connected. Payments already made stay on your bookings, and you can still refund them in your Square dashboard.
