Asking clients for reviews
Apture emails each client a few days after their photos are delivered, and you choose which reviews show on your website.
Apture can ask every client for a review for you, a few days after their gallery is delivered. Reviews come back to you first, and only the ones you approve go on your website.
Turn it on
- Go to Automations > Review requests.
- Tick Ask clients for a review automatically.
- Set Days after the gallery is delivered. Default 3.
- Leave Send one reminder a week later ticked if you'd like one gentle nudge.
- Choose where the email sends them (below), then click Save.
It's off until you switch it on. Only galleries delivered after you switch it on are asked about, so past clients don't all get an email at once. To ask someone from before, open their booking and click Email a review request.
No gallery in Apture for a session? Then it counts from the session date, once you mark the session Delivered or Wrapped on the Bookings board.
Where the email sends them
- Your review page: a short page on your website, in your colors, with stars and a box for their words. Reviews come back to Clients > Reviews for you to approve.
- Google: the button opens your Google review page, and the review goes on Google.
- Another link: Facebook, Yelp, The Knot or anywhere else you collect reviews.
Paste your Google review link even if you use your own review page. After someone gives you 4 or 5 stars, the page asks if they'd share it on Google too, and copies their words so they can paste them in.
The email
Change the Subject and Message on the same page. Words in {curly brackets} fill themselves in, like {firstName} and {signoff}, as in your other client emails. A Leave a review button and an unsubscribe link go under your message.
Each session is asked about once, and the same person is asked at most once every 6 months. Anyone who unsubscribed from your emails, or whose address bounced, isn't asked.
Approving reviews
New reviews show in Clients > Reviews, with a number next to Clients in the menu and a note in the bell.
- Approve puts it on your website's reviews, at the end of the list. If your Reviews section was switched off, approving switches it on.
- Hide keeps it off your website. Hiding one you approved earlier takes it off again.
Clients choose whether you may show their review on your website. If they didn't tick it, the review is marked private and stays in Apture for you.
Approved reviews are in your reviews list in the website builder like any other, so you can reorder or shorten them there. See Service cards, reviews and FAQs.
